In short: this site sets no cookies

No first-party cookies, no third-party cookies, no session cookies. The server writes none and your browser receives none when you open this page.

What follows explains what is stored — a single preference, and only if you choose it — and why, as a result, there is no consent banner here.

No measurement, no advertising

There is no analytics installed: no Google Analytics, no tag manager, not even a cookieless alternative. There is no measurement tool on this site at all.

Nor are there advertising pixels, remarketing networks, embedded videos or social buttons loading from a third party. Typefaces are served from our own server, so opening this page produces not a single request to anyone else's domain.

The server hosting the site does log the requests it receives — IP address, date, time and user agent — because without that log it cannot be operated or defended from abuse. That is not a cookie: it is a server log, and the privacy policy covers it.

The one thing kept in your browser

Exactly one, and only when you ask for it:

Theme preference

Kept in the browser's local storage — not in a cookie — under the key “theme”, and only when you press the light-and-dark switch. It holds the word “light” or “dark” and nothing else. It never leaves your browser and never travels to a server.

Language

Not stored anywhere: it lives in the address itself, at /es or /en. Switching language means switching URL, so there is nothing to remember.

Why there is no consent banner

Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC requires consent to store information on a user's device, except where that storage is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has explicitly requested.

The theme preference falls inside that exception: the browser writes it only when you press the switch, it serves solely to remember that choice, and it cannot identify you or follow you across other sites. There is nothing else to consent to.

A banner asking permission for nothing protects no one: it trains people to accept without reading. While there is nothing to consent to, there will not be one here.

How to clear the preference

Clearing this site's data from your browser settings is enough. Next time you visit, the page opens in the dark theme, which is where it starts.

You can also block local storage for this domain. The site will work exactly the same; it simply will not remember the theme between visits.

If this changes

This page describes what exists today, not what is planned. If a measurement tool is installed in future, this policy and the consent mechanism that goes with it will be published at the same time as the tool, never afterwards.

As long as the text above says there are no cookies, there are none. The date in the heading says when that was last checked.
